Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

Join us for one of the UK’s most iconic endurance walking events, the legendary Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. This demanding but hugely rewarding adventure takes in the three highest mountains in the Yorkshire Dales: Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m), all within a single day.

Widely regarded as one of Britain’s classic challenge walks, the route covers approximately 24-25 miles (38-40km) with over 1,500 metres of ascent. Traditionally completed within 12 hours, the challenge offers participants the opportunity to test their physical and mental resilience whilst experiencing some of the finest scenery in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Challenge

The route links three distinctive mountains, each with its own character and rewards:

  • Pen-y-Ghent (694m), famous for its steep stepped ascent and spectacular limestone scenery.
  • Whernside (736m), the highest peak in Yorkshire, offering extensive views across the Dales, Lakeland and the Howgill Fells.
  • Ingleborough (723m), with its distinctive flat-topped summit and commanding panoramic views across Northern England.

A Brilliant Personal Challenge

Whether you’re looking to push your limits, prepare for bigger mountain objectives, or simply enjoy a memorable day amongst like-minded walkers, the Yorkshire Three Peaks provides an outstanding sense of achievement. Completing the full route within the traditional twelve-hour target has become a recognised benchmark for walkers across the UK.
